Where to Play SCRABBLE® in Tucson
Tucson features two clubs sanctioned by the North American Scrabble Players
Association (NASPA) and listed as "Challenging" Casual Clubs by
the National Scrabble Association as well as one club listed by the Word
Games Players' Organization (WGPO), three other clubs (one
located in Ajo, AZ) listed as Casual Clubs by The National Scrabble
Association (NSA) and one unaffiliated club listed here at tucsonscrabble.com
NASPA Club # 565 - Thursday Night Scrabble Club - Tournament Rules/Recreational

North American
Scrabble Players Association (NASPA) Club # 565
is directed by Ed Saunders. This
is a two-tiered club offering a Tournament Rules Division and a separate
Recreational Division (if recreational players are available). The Tournament
Rules Division features Scrabble games using NASPA
Tournament Rules and maintains club
statistics and ratings. The Recreational Division offers a more relaxed,
but still challenging, game for the casual player and no statistics or ratings
will be maintained.

- Thursdays from 5:00PM until 10:00PM - Thursday

- Thursdays at IHOP (International House Of Pancakes, 4187 N. Oracle
Rd. in Tucson. Click

- Cost -Tournament Rules Division - $3.00 per session.
First-time players are exempted from paying dues. 75% of dues are returned
in the form of cash prizes. Recreational Division - No set charge but
if you think you had a dollar's worth of fun, a $1.00 donation to the
club kitty would help us meet expenses and provide future services.
- Other information - Tournament Rules Players should
familiarize themselves with Club 565's structure
and format before attending. All levels of player are welcome. Tournament
Rules Players who have not played in an organized setting should read
the Information for New Scrabble Players
section of this site before attending.

WGPO Club - East Tucson Scrabble Club - Tournament Rules/Recreational
Club
The East Tucson Scrabble Club is directed by Jeannette
Kaufman (Click on her name to email her or contact her by phone at 520-400-8861)
and features both casual and tournament-style play, depending on players'
preferences.

Learning Scrabble Club - An NSA Casual Club
The Learning Scrabble Club is directed by Naurlene
Canterman. This club offers Scrabble games in a more relaxed setting
and tends to appeal more to the beginning players.
- When - Every Tuesday beginning at 2:00PM and Friday
beginning at 7:00PM. There is no designated end time.
- Where
- Cost - There are no dues for attending this club. The restaurants in which they are held do not charge for use of their space. Please be respectful of other patrons, order food, and tip your server well.
Ajo, Arizona Scrabble Club - A Seasonal NSA Casual Club (January - March)
