This session marked the thirty-fifth week of NSA Club #565's 2008-2009 season!

No games were played in the Recreational Division this week.

In the Tournament session, we were joined by 5 tournament division players who played 22 games in which we scored 7,929 points for a 360.4091 points per game average. Of the 30 recorded bingos we played, one was a phony that went unchallenged.

Some numbers and whatnot for this tournament session include:

Some interesting bingos:

We featured two regular contests this week

The first regular contest was the "K" Is For Kontest for the highest scoring play of a word that contains the letter "K". Monique Kornell played the pure "K" word, taking advantage of a DLS/TWS situation and earning 61 pts for KANE. Ed Saunders and Richard Spence played "hookey" with the K on their entries, Ed scoring 73 for his unlikely combination of STEREOS/KILTS while Richard wins the $3.75 prize with MARINATE/KI for 78 pts.

The second regular contest was the Double Your Pleasure, Double Your Fun Contest for the highest scoring Double- Double of the session. This prize rolled over from last week, making a $7.50 payoff available for Richard Spence, who scored 40 pts on his 2x2 of NOTICED.

No one cashed in on any of the Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $0.93 added to it. We have paid out a total of $350.18 in prizes during the 2008-2009 season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2008-2009 season.

The next session (May 7, 2009) shall feature the following contests:
Communications Contest - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of a word that is, or incorporates somewhere within it, a form or method of communication (e.g. SONGbird, JARGONel, DIALECT, PIGEONS, EPISTLER, TELEVISE, KVETCHED, SCROLLS, EMAILING, LINEups, COOEEING, GARDYLOO, etc.)
Starts With "W" Contest - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of a word that begins with the letter "W" (e.g. WHIMBREL, WAGGONS, WEASANDS, WINDLES, WADMAALS, WHYDAHS, WOMMERAS, WAXWING, WOODWAX, WURTZITE, etc.)
Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot* - $12.14 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores a Triple-Triple play.
100+ Play Progressive Jackpot* - $2.61 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 100 or more points in a single play
Club 565 Progressive Jackpot - $23.16 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 565 or more points in a single game.
