In the Tournament session, we were joined by 4 tournament division players who played 16 games in which we scored 5,860 points for a 366.2500 points per game average. Of the 16 recorded bingos we played, none was a phony that went unchallenged.

Some numbers and whatnot for this tournament session include:

Some interesting bingos:

We featured two regular contests this week

The first regular contest was the Sufferin' Suffixes Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that ends with one of the suffixes "ING", "ITE", "IC", or "AL". Sarah Jacobson played SHADING for 76 pts but Ed Saunders scored 80 pts with RETILING to take the $3.00 prize.

The second regular contest was the This Contest Is For The Birds Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that is the name of, or incorporates the name of somewhere within it, a bird or type of bird. Ed Saunders scored 29 pts with his straightforward play of JAY, but Karen Lundeen went Asian with a 75 pt play of seMINAr (MINA is a variant spelling of MYNAH) to fly off with the $3.00 prize.

Ed's $3.00 winnings will be donated back to the club kitty.

No one cashed in on any of the Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $0.75 added to it. We have paid out a total of $300.16 in prizes during the 2008-2009 season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2008-2009 season.

The next session (April 2, 2009) shall feature the following contests:
"X" Marks The Pot Contest - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of a word that contains the letter "X" somewhere within it. (e.g. XEROSERE, NARTHEX, COXSWAIN, OXALISES, SALPINX, XANTHAN, etc.)
Low Win Contest - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the lowest winning score for this session.
Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot* - $7.29 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores a Triple-Triple play.
