Session Notes - October 23, 2008 Session

This session marked the eleventh week of NSA Club #565's 2008-2009 season!

We enjoyed the company and strong play of visitor Paul Moorefield from St. Petersburg at this week's session.

In our second full season as a two-tiered club with both a Recreational and a separate Tournament Rules Division, there will continue to be some tweaking done as the Recreational Division develops.

No recreational division games were played this week. Click here for a roster of Recreational Players

In the Tournament session, we were joined by 5 tournament division players who played 24 games in which we scored 8,510 points for a 354.58 points per game average. Of the 24 recorded bingos we played, one was a phony that went unchallenged.

Some numbers and whatnot for this tournament session include:

Some interesting bingos:

We featured two regular contests this week

The first regular contest was the Creatures Of The Deep Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that is the name of, or incorporates the name of somewhere within it, some form of underwater-dwelling life form. Ed Saunders dragged in his net with a 74 pt play of DRAGONET to catch the $3.00 prize in this contest.

The second regular contest was the Just Call Me "AL" Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that contains the letter couplet "AL", in that order somewhere within it. Sarah Jacobson played AAL, AL, and ALE but visitor Paul Moorefield played the three highest scoring "AL" plays this week, scoring 28 for CHALK, 48 for QUALM, and at least 55 for the bingo GOALIES.
Paul picks up the $3.00 prize.

Ed's $3.00 winnings will be donated back to the club kitty.

No one cashed in on any of the Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $0.75 added to it. We have paid out a total of $104.51 in prizes during the 2008-2009 season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2008-2009 season.

The next session (October 30, 2008) shall feature the following contests:
