Session Notes - April 23, 2009 Session

This session marked the thirty-fourth week of NSA Club #565's 2008-2009 season!

No games were played in the Recreational Division this week.

In the Tournament session, we were joined by 5 tournament division players who played 22 games in which we scored 8,266 points for a 375.7273 points per game average. Of the 27 recorded bingos we played, one was a phony that went unchallenged.

We featured two regular contests this week

The first regular contest was the Gotta Dance! Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that is the name of, or incorporates the name of somewhere within it, a dance. In the third week of this contest, Sarah Jacobson waited til the final game and played JOTAS (a Spanish dance) for 27 pts and the $11.25 prize.

The second regular contest was the Double Your Pleasure, Double Your Fun Contest for the highest scoring Double- Double of the session. None were played this time around and the $3.75 prize will rollover to next week.

Ed Saunders looked at a rack of ELMOSS? and located an existing "KI" on the board. The resulting 9 letter bingo earned Ed the $7.47 9+ Bingo Progressive Jackpot. Can you figure it out? Answer in blue in the Bingos Section below.

Ed's $7.47 winnings were donated back to the club kitty.

No one cashed in on any of the other Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $0.93 added to it. We have paid out a total of $338.93 in prizes during the 2008-2009 season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2008-2009 season.

The next session (April 30, 2009) shall feature the following contests:
• "K" Is For Kontest - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of a word containing the letter "K" (e.g. KYANIZE, MISTEUK, KRUMKAKE, YAKITORI, KOLKHOZY, KEITLOA, ALKALINE, BRISKET, etc.)
• Double Your Pleasure, Double Your Fun Contest - $3.75 plus a quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring Double-Double for this session.
•Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot* - $11.21 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores a Triple-Triple play.
•100+ Play Progressive Jackpot* - $1.68 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 100 or more points in a single play
•Club 565 Progressive Jackpot - $22.23 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 565 or more points in a single game.
•9+ Bingo Progressive Jackpot* - A sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who plays a bingo of 9 or more letters in length.
* = Jackpot prizes cannot be combined.
