Session Notes - June 18, 2009 Session

This session marked the forty-second week of NASPA Club #565's 2008-2009 season!

No games were played in the Recreational Division this week.

In the Tournament session, we were joined by 4 tournament division players who played 18 games in which we scored 6,502 points for a 361.2222 points per game average. Of the 21 recorded bingos we played, none were phonies that went unchallenged.

We featured two regular contests this week

The first regular contest was the OOH! We're Having A Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that contains the letters "O", "O", and "H", in any order, somewhere within it. There were no entries in this contest this time around, so the $3.00 prize will be carried forward to next session.

The second regular contest was The Furniture And Accessories Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that is, or incorporates somewhere within it, the name of some sort of furniture or home decor accessory. In the true spirit of couch potatos everywhere, Jason won this $3.00 prize with a 74 pt play of REMOTES (Can you believe what they make us watch these days?)

No one cashed in on any of the Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $0.75 added to it. We have paid out a total of $388.42 in prizes during the 2008-2009 season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2008-2009 season.

The next session (June 25, 2009) shall feature the following contests:
• OOH! We're Having A Contest - $3.00 plus a quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of a word that contains the letters "O", "O", and "H", in any order, somewhere within it (e.g. HOOPOOS, ROADSHOW, HOMEWORK, SONHOOD, HABOOBS, MORPHOS, HOPTOAD, GONOPHS, KOLKHOZY, BOSHBOK, OOTHECA, etc.)
• Home And Gardens Contest - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of a word that is, or incorporates somewhere within it, the name of something that might be found around the home or garden (e.g. KITCHEN, BIRDBATH, BOOKCASE, LOPPERS, CUTLERY, WOODSHED, ORNAMENT, SONGBIRD, etc.)
•Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot* - $17.01 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores a Triple-Triple play.
•100+ Play Progressive Jackpot* - $7.48 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 100 or more points in a single play
•Club 565 Progressive Jackpot - $28.03 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 565 or more points in a single game.
•9+ Bingo Progressive Jackpot* - $3.56 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who plays a bingo of 9 or more letters in length.
* = Jackpot prizes cannot be combined.
