This session marked the twentieth week of NSA Club #565's 2008-2009 season!

No games were played in the recreational division this week.

In the Tournament session, we were joined by 3 tournament division players who played 14 games in which we scored 5,370 points for a 383.57 points per game average. Of the 22 recorded bingos we played, one was a phony that went unchallenged.

Some numbers and whatnot for this tournament session include:

Some interesting bingos:

We featured two regular contests this week

The first regular contest was the Wassamadda "U" Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that pertains in some direct way to University life or schools in general. There were no entries this session so the $2.25 prize will be carried forward to the next session when, hopefully, we will learn the identity of a winner.

The second regular contest was the What's "UP" With That? Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that contains both of the letters "U" and "P" somewhere within it. Ed Saunders scored a whopping 8 points with his play of DUPE, but Karen Lundeen came up with the winner, scoring 31 points with her play of DIP / UP to scarf up the $2.25 prize.

No one cashed in on any of the Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $0.56 added to it. We have paid out a total of $169.92 in prizes during the 2008-2009 season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2008-2009 season.

The next session (January 22, 2009) shall feature the following contests:
Wassamadda "U" Contest - $2.25 plus a quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of a word that pertains in some direct way to University life or schools in general (e.g. PERIODS, CORRIDOR, BUSSING, TEACHERS, BIOLOGY, ALGEBRA, BUSINESS, DIPLOMA, etc.)
Alternate "ING" Play Contest - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of a word that contains all of the letters "I", "N", and "G" - in any order OTHER THAN "ING" - somewhere within it (e.g. IGNEOUS, GINGELLI, GAZANIAS, AFGHANI, BEIGENET, NILGHAU, etc.).
Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot* - $21.66 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores a Triple-Triple play.
100+ Play Progressive Jackpot* - $1.49 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 100 or more points in a single play
