This session marked the fourteenth week of NSA Club #565's 2008-2009 season!
In our second full season as a two-tiered club with both a Recreational
and a separate Tournament Rules Division, there will continue to be some
tweaking done as the Recreational Division develops.
No recreational division games were played this week. Click
here for a roster of Recreational Players
In the Tournament session, we were joined by 4 tournament division players who played 18 games in which we scored 6,513 points for a 361.83 points per game average. Of the 20 recorded bingos we played, three were phonies that went unchallenged.
Some numbers and whatnot for this tournament session include:
Some interesting bingos:
We featured two regular contests this week
The first regular contest was the Well, You Can Call Me "J" Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that contains the letter "J" somewhere within it. Ed pointed out the JABOT on his shirt (28 pts), Mickey Matz rubbed his JAW for 31 pts, and Sarah Jacobson jewed them both out of the $3.00 prize with her 36 pt play of JEW.
The second regular contest was the Instrumental Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that is the name of, or incorporates the name of somewhere within it, some form of musical instrument. Ed Saunders had the only entry, as he played his PIANO (21 pts)to the sweet tune of his $3.00 prize.
Ed's $3.00 winnings will be donated back to the club kitty.
No one cashed in on any of the Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall
have $0.75 added to it. We have paid out a total of $126.62 in prizes during
the 2008-2009 season. Click
here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2008-2009 season.
