In the Tournament session, we were joined by 4 tournament division players who played 22 games in which we scored 8,279 points for a 376.3182 points per game average. Of the 25 recorded bingos we played, three were phonies that went unchallenged.
Some numbers and whatnot for this tournament session include:
Some interesting bingos:
We featured two regular contests this week
The first regular contest was the Well, You Can Call Me JAY! Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that contains the letter "J" somewhere within it. Karen Lundeen tried to lock up this prize with JAILS for 33 pts, that didn't jibe with Ed Saunders who got 42 for his play of JIBE, but Sarah Jacobson was the one doing the dance after winning this $3.00 prize with a 47 pt play of JIGS.
The second regular contest was The Fabrics Of Our Lives Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that is, or incorporates somewhere within it, the name of some sort of fiber or fabric. Ed Saunders trotted out some MUNGO (a low-grade wool) for 24 pts, but Jason Sommer offered up some fine BROCADES (a fabric woven with an elaborate design) to take the $3.00 prize.
No one cashed in on any of the Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $0.75 added to it. We have paid out a total of $385.42 in prizes during the 2008-2009 season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2008-2009 season.
