Session Notes - April 9, 2009 Session

This session marked the thirty-second week of NSA Club #565's 2008-2009 season!

No games were played in the Recreational Division this week.

In the Tournament session, we were joined by 6 tournament division players who played 22 games in which we scored 8,194 points for a 372.4545 points per game average. Of the 27 recorded bingos we played, none were phonies that went unchallenged.

We featured two regular contests this week

The first regular contest was the Gotta Dance! Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that is the name of, or incorporates the name of somewhere within it, a dance. Three would be entries were researched and found not to meet the criteria for the contest. This contest and the $4.50 prize will roll over to the next session.

The second regular contest was the High Loss Contest for the highest losing score for this session. Monique Kornell claimed the $4.50 prize with a 401 pt loss.

Ed Saunders took aim on the 100+Play Progressive Jackpot, racking up 104 pt on each of two plays, TRACKERS and WESTERN. Ed splits the $3.55 with himself and donates the entire amount back to the club kitty.

No one cashed in on any of the other Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $1.12 added to it. We have paid out a total of $317.21 in prizes during the 2008-2009 season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2008-2009 season.

The next session (April 16, 2009) shall feature the following contests:
• Gotta Dance! Contest - $4.50 plus a quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of a word that is the name of, or incoporates the name of somewhere within it, a dance. (e.g. SARABAND, MAXIXES, TANGOed, JIGsawn, FOXTROTS, GAVOTte, LINDIES, cREELed, unTWIST, RHUMBAS, etc.)
• No BS! Contest - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of a word that does not include a blank (B) or an "S" tile (e.g. CAZIQUE, QUIXOTRY, JAROVIZE, WATERZOOI, ZECCHINO, KOLHOZY, etc.)
•Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot* - $9.53 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores a Triple-Triple play.
•100+ Play Progressive Jackpot* - A sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 100 or more points in a single play
•Club 565 Progressive Jackpot - $20.55 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 565 or more points in a single game.
•9+ Bingo Progressive Jackpot* - $5.79 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who plays a bingo of 9 or more letters in length.
* = Jackpot prizes cannot be combined.
