This session marked the thirteenth week of NSA Club #565's 2008-2009 season!
Ed Saunders finished on top, Sarah Jacobson won both of the nightly contests, and Jeremiah Ramirez took advantage of the club's first month rerating provision to jump his club rating 346 points from 1153 to 1499.
In our second full season as a two-tiered club with both a Recreational
and a separate Tournament Rules Division, there will continue to be some
tweaking done as the Recreational Division develops.
No recreational division games were played this week. Click
here for a roster of Recreational Players
In the Tournament session, we were joined by 4 tournament division players who played 14 games in which we scored 5,028 points for a 359.14 points per game average. Of the 14 recorded bingos we played, three were phonies that went unchallenged.
Some numbers and whatnot for this tournament session include:
Some interesting bingos:
We featured two regular contests this week
The first regular contest was the Clothes Make The Winner! Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that is the name of, or incorporates the name of somewhere within it, some item of clothing or clothing accessory. Jeremiah Ramirez scored 18 pts for the old "Animal House" standby, TOGA but, after some research, Sarah Jacobson takes the $3.00 prize with JEAN for 39 pts.
The second regular contest was the To "BE" Or Not To "BE"
Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that contains the letter
couplet "BE", in that order, somewhere within it. Ed Saunders
eked out 11 pts for OBE, Pat Madea beeped his
horn on the way by with BEEP for 16, but Sarah
Jacobson bet on her 20 pt play of BET and took
home the $3.00 pot.
No one cashed in on any of the Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall
have $0.75 added to it. We have paid out a total of $120.62 in prizes during
the 2008-2009 season. Click
here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2008-2009 season.
