Session Notes - April 2, 2009 Session

This session marked the thirty-first week of NSA Club #565's 2008-2009 season!

No games were played in the Recreational Division this week.

In the Tournament session, we were joined by 6 tournament division players who played 24 games in which we scored 9,136 points for a 380.6667 points per game average. Of the 34 recorded bingos we played, two were phonies that went unchallenged.

We featured two regular contests this week

The first regular contest was the "X" Marks The Pot Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that contains the letter "X". Ed Saunders put in the 37 pt FIX, Phyllis Spence said "XU can't win with that!" (38 pts), but Loren Mitchel picked up the $4.50 prize and said "I'll be XENIA" (56 pts).

The second regular contest was the Low Win Contest for the lowest winning score for this session. Phyllis Spence scored 373 pts en route to the win in her only game of the session and picks up $4.50 for her efforts.

No one cashed in on any of the Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $1.12 added to it. We have paid out a total of $309.16 in prizes during the 2008-2009 season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2008-2009 season.

The next session (April 9, 2009) shall feature the following contests:
• Gotta Dance! Contest - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of a word that is the name of, or incoporates the name of somewhere within it, a dance. (e.g. SARABAND, MAXIXES, TANGOed, JIGsawn, FOXTROTS, GAVOTte, LINDIES, cREELed, unTWIST, RHUMBAS, etc.)
• High Loss Contest - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest losing score for this session.
•Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot* - $8.41 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores a Triple-Triple play.
•100+ Play Progressive Jackpot* - $2.43 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 100 or more points in a single play
•Club 565 Progressive Jackpot - $19.43 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 565 or more points in a single game.
•9+ Bingo Progressive Jackpot* - $4.67 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who plays a bingo of 9 or more letters in length.
* = Jackpot prizes cannot be combined.
