This was the 28th session of the 2004 - 2005 Season of National Scrabble Association Club #565!
We were joined by a 8 players, who played a total of 24 games in which we scored 17,550 points for a 731.25 point-per-game average. Of the 60 recorded bingos we played, only 1was a phonies that went unchallenged.

High Loss - 414 points by Lewis Saul (Opponent at 448)

Bingo, Bingo, Bingo - Josh Kassel was able to play 3 back-to-back bingos in three progressive turns (SUCKERS, ROASTED, ENGINEER) against Lewis Saul. This is the first time he has ever done this.

This session featured two contests in rememberance of Linda bredel, longtime friend and one of the great ladies of Scrabble in general, who recently passed away after a long battle with cancer. The first for the highest scoring play starting with L, and the second wasfor the highest scoring play starting with B -- Linda's initials. We had the following entries:

This session featured the letter X in the ongoing Alphabet Bingo Contest in which all bingos starting with an "X" scored a point. Nobody turned in an X bingo, and Nathan Benedict is in 1st place, with Joshua Kassel in 2nd.Click here for Alphabet Bingo standings and rules!
Ed Saunders turned in a bingo of 9 or more letters this week and wins the 9+ Bingo Progressive Jackpot with his 72 point play of INFURIATE, which earns him the $1.50 prize. The other three progressive jackpots shall each have $1.50 added to them. As of this session, we have payed out $610.88 in prizes for the 2004-2005 season. Click here for a complete list of winners.
The next session (26 May) shall feature the following contests:
- "DE-ER Contest" - A quarter of dues shall be awarded to the highest scoring play that begins with DE- and ends with -ER or begins with DE- and ends with -ER (e.g., DEFENDER, DECODER, etc.).
- "RE-ED Contest" - ~A quarter of dues shall be awarded to the highest scoring play that begins with RE- and ends with -ED or begins with DE- and ends with -ER (e.g., RETURNED, REVERED, etc.).
Alphabet Bingo Contest - The Alphabet Bingo Letter for this session is Y. Each bingo beginning with Y scores one point (click here for standings and rules)
- Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot* - $1.50 plus an eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores a Triple-Triple play.
- 100+ Play Progressive Jackpot* - $2.81 plus an eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 100 or more points in a single play
- Club 565 Progressive Jackpot - $8.23 plus an eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 565 or more points in a single game.
- 9+ Bingo Progressive Jackpot* - An eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who plays a bingo of 9 or more letters in length.
