Session Notes:

This was our 42nd session of the season. Eleven folks played 27 games in which 20,165 points were scored for a 746.9 points-per-game average and a 373.4 points-per-player-per-game average. We saw 62 bingos for the session, only two of which were phonies

Ed Saunders took honors as the evening's top player by turning in a 5-1 +72 scorecard for the night and picking up a mess of club rating points. Nathan barely beat out Linda Bredel for the Bingo King title by turning in 2.25 bingos per game. Nathan took the High Game prize for the session with a 533-pointer. The Parallel Play contest was a close one. Both Lewis Saul and Naurlene Canterman turned in plays that formed five words at once. Lewis' play formed BODE, MERE, MIR, NE, and YOM for 32 points. Naurlene, however, beat him out with a 38-point play that formed the words AS, NA, PAWN, PI, and WE. Naurlene and Nathan both take home $5 prizes.

Two jackpots were nailed last night. Nathan Benedict finally won the 9+ Bingo jackpot with a bingo of 9 letters. Playing CONTAINER for 74-points, he scoops up a prize of $12.77. Joshua Kassel played a Triple-Triple play of DOUBTERS for 140 points and wins that jackpot of $5.77. Both the 9+ Bingo and Triple-Triple jackpots now revert back to zero. Nobody hit the 600 Jackpot or the "Deja Bingo" Jackpot, and each of those will have $1.38 added to them. The Alphabet Bingo contest featured the letter "R" and saw five people score points. Now on the board in this contest is Gary Wagman. Ed Saunders is still in the lead.

Next Session (11 September) will feature the following contests:
- Close Call - A prize will be awarded to the player who wins his or her game by the narrowest margin. In the event of a tie, the prize shall go to the player with the higher score. (~a quarter of dues collected)
- "REplay" Contest - A prize will be awarded to the player who scores the most amount of points by playing a word that begins with RE but can also stand alone without the RE (e.g., REDO, REVIEW, REORDER, etc.). To qualify for this contest, you must play both the R and E tiles. Blanks count. (~a quarter of dues collected)
- Triple-Triple Jackpot - An eighth of the evening's dues will be awarded to any player(s) who scores a Triple-Triple Play.
- 600 Jackpot
- $1.38 plus an eighth of the evening's dues will be awarded to the player to any player(s) who score 600 or more points in a game.
- 9+ Bingo Jackpot
- An eighth of the evening's dues will be awarded to any player(s) who scores a bingo containing nine or more letters.
"Deja Bingo" Jackpot - $2.15 plus an eighth of the evening's dues will be awarded to any player(s) who plays the same bingo more than once in a session.

- Alphabet Bingo
- The Alphabet Bingo letter for this session is "S." For each bingo you play that begins with the letter S, you score one point. Click here for rules. ($26 Jackpot)
