+ Session NotesThis was our 50th and final session of Club #565's 2002-2003 session! The November 06, 2003 session will mark the beginning of NSA Club #565's 2003-2004 season. With this new season comes some changes. Please click here to read about them. With the majority of the Tucson Scrabble community in Northern Arizona attending the Grand Canyon Tournament, we had a very intimate setting of only only 4 players. Despite the small turnout, a nice time was had by all. We played 8 games in which 6,200 points were scored, for a 775 points-per-game average. Of the 25 bingos played this session, only one was a phony that went unchallenged. Josh was the top player of the night as well as Bingo King, scoring 9 bingos in 5 games. The contests for the evening were the "END of the season contest," for the highest-scoring play containing the letters END played in that order as well as for Low Win. Josh won the Low Win with a 353-345 game against Monique. The END contest was won by both Josh and Monique Kornell, both of whom played the word "END" for 23 points. The big winner of the evening, though, was Ed Saunders. This session saw the end of the Alphabet Bingo contest, which had been going on for 25 previous sessions; Ed won it hands down by scoring 19 points. Second place was Nathan Benedict with 12 points; third place was Josh Kassel with 10 points. Ed wins the grand prize jackpot of $26; Nathan and Josh win pats on the back. For the final standings, click here. None of the other jackpots were won, and $0.50 will be added to each. With the Alphabet Bingo contest over, we are starting a new bingo contest: Double Bingo! This contest will last for 13 sessions, at the end of which the player with the most points shall be awarded a $13 Jackpot. For complete details, click here. Next Session (06 November) will feature the following contests: + Bingos by PlayerBelow are the bingos played during the 30 October 2003 session at National Scrabble Association Club #565.
