Session Notes:
This was our 27th session of the season. We had 14 players who competed in 31 games in which a total of 22,906 points were scored. 70 bingos were played throughout the evening; 7 of those were phonies that went unchallenged.

Naurlene Canterman was the top player of the evening and turned in a perfect 6-0 scorecard. Ed Saunders was bingo king, with 10 bingos in 5 games. And on bingos, the best one played this session was definitely by Lewis Saul who was able to play a one-voweled bingo of DIRNDLS for 64 points, a very impressive find.

Our first contest this week was the "Hot As Hell" contest for the highest-scoring word that relates to the summertime in Arizona. Judith Whitcomb turned in SUNNIEST for 74 points and the prize. Our second contest was the "Numbers Contest" for the highest-scoring word containing a number. Rex Kremer picked up the prize for an 80 point play of RATIONED. Other entries included:
FOREGONE - 76 points (Linda Bredel)
ATONERS - 68 points (Ed Saunders)
NINETEEN - 59 points (Judith Whitcomb)
Both Judith and Rex pick up $6.50 prizes for the sessions. Congrats!

The Alphabet Bingo contest featured the letter C. Four turned in bingos beginning with the letter C, and despite not scoring this week Ed Saunders is in 1st place. For Alphabet Bingo details, click here. Nobody nailed a Triple-Triple play or a bingo with 9 or more letters, and we will add $3.25 to each of these jackpots

Next Session (29 May) will feature the following contests:
- High Loss - A prize will be awarded for the highest-scoring game that loses (~a quarter of dues collected)

- "Direction" Contest - A prize will be awarded to the highest-scoring play that relates to direction (e.g., WEST, ALEE, INWARD, THROUGH, HOMEWARD, AWEATHER, etc.).  (~a quarter of dues collected).
- Triple-Triple Jackpot - A jackpot of $14.25 plus an eighth of the evening's dues will be awarded to any player(s) who scores a Triple-Triple Play.
- 9+ Bingo Jackpot
-
A jackpot of $20.75 plus an eighth of the evening's dues will be awarded to any player(s) who score a bingo containing nine or more letters.
- Alphabet Bingo
