/ | | AVG POINTS | AVG BINGOS | CLUB RATING Session Notes:
This was session number 31of the 2002-2003
season. Our snowbirds having split the summer heat, we saw a smaller than
usual crowd of 9 players compete in a total of 22 games in which 15,646
points were scored for an overall average of 711.182 points per game, or
355.591 points per player per game. We saw 36 bingos played this session. Of
those 36 bingos, only two were phonies that went unchallenged.
For the second week in a row, Linda Bredel turned in a scorecard with 100% wins and is again the top player of the session. Again, Ed Saunders was Bingo King, playing a lighter than usual 6 bingos in 5 games. The "High Five" contest for the highest-scoring play made with five tiles goes to Karen Lundeen for an impressive 72-point play of QUASI. The "TRI Contest" for the highest-scoring word beginning with TRI was won by Rex Kremer with his play TRIAL, an otherwise unremarkable 21-point play that was the evening's only noted play that began with this very common prefix. Both these contests win $4.00 prizes. Remember, if you have a play that qualifies for one of the evening's contests, please remember to write it down. Even if it is small, it just might win. Despite not scoring in it for a second week in a row, Ed Saunders remains in first place for The Alphabet Bingo contest. This session featured the letter G, and only Linda Bredel and Josh Kassel scored bingos that began with it (GLADIER and GRADERS, respectively). For Alphabet Bingo rules and details, click here. The 9+ Bingo Jackpot (for a bingo of nine or more letters) and the Triple-Triple Jackpot remain unclaimed, and we added $2.25 to each. Next Session (26 June) will feature the following contests: Below
are the bingos and their anagrams played at Club #565 on June 19 by player. Phonies are in
red lower case. |
