Session Notes:

Nine players showed up for the 40th session of the season. A total of 22 games were played in which 52 bingos were played, 6 of which were phonies that went unchallenged. We scored 16,598 points throughout the evening, for a 750.8 point-per-game average or 375.4 points per player per game.

Ed Saunders played 9 bingos in 5 games, earning him the Bingo King crown. The evening's "High 3" contest for the highest scoring play made by using only three tiles saw Naurlene Canterman score 52 points for playing the tiles A, J, and T. The Low Win prize for the lowest winning score was a tie. Both Linda Bredel and Karen Lundeen played winning games of 364 points, and they will split the evening's prize. Naurlene takes home $4, and Linda and Karen take home $2.

We saw two of the Jackpot prizes won this session. Two folks played Double-Double plays. Nathan Benedict with a play of COVRANT for 36 points, and Linda Bredel for her play of CROONED. As Linda's play was the higher scoring of the two, she wins that jackpot of $2.26. Nathan nailed the "Deja Bingo" Jackpot by playing the same bingo twice in one session. He takes home $9.64 for playing PILSNER in his 2nd game for 80 points and then playing PILSNER again in his 4th game.  The Triple-Triple and 9+ Bingo Jackpots remain unclaimed, and each will have $1.13 added to them.  The Alphabet Bingo Contest letter of the night was "P," which played nicely into Nathan's PILSNER plays. Ed Saunders remains in 1st place with 17 points, trailed by Nathan Benedict with 9 points and Linda Bredel in 3rd with 8.

Next Session (28 August) will feature the following contests:
- High Open - A prize will be awarded to the player with the highest-scoring first play of the game. In order to qualify for this prize, you must play first; the second play of the game does not count. (~a quarter of dues collected)
- "Power Tile" Contest - A prize will be awarded to the player who scores the most amount of points in a play that uses one or more of the four power tiles: J, Q, X, and Z (e.g., JOKERS, SQUEEZE, XYSTI, etc.). In order to qualify for this prize, you must play the actual power tile. Designating a blank as a power tile or adding to a previously-played "power tile" word does not count. (~a quarter of dues collected)
- Triple-Triple Jackpot - $3.64 plus an eighth of the evening's dues will be awarded to any player(s) who scores a Triple-Triple Play.
- Double-Double Jackpot
- An eighth of the evening's dues will be awarded to the player with the highest scoring Double-Double Play.
- 9+ Bingo Jackpot
- A jackpot of $9.64 plus an eighth of the evening's dues will be awarded to any player(s) who scores a bingo containing nine or more letters.
"Deja Bingo" Jackpot - An eighth of the evening's dues will be awarded to any player(s) who plays the same bingo more than once in a session.

- Alphabet Bingo
- The Alphabet Bingo letter for this session is "Q." For each bingo you play that begins with the letter Q, you score one point. ($26 Jackpot)
