Session Notes - May 1, 2008 Session

This session marked the twenty-fifth week of NSA Club #565's 2007-2008 season!

Since this season will be our first full season as a two-tiered club with both a Recreational and a separate Tournament Rules Division. There will be some tweaking done as the Recreational Division develops.

In the Tournament session, we were joined by 3 tournament division players who played 10 games in which we scored 3,332 points for a 333.20 points per game average. Of the 4 recorded bingos we played, none was a phoney that went unchallenged.

There were no recreational games played this week. Click here for a roster of Recreational Players

Some numbers and whatnot for this tournament session include:

Some interesting bingos:

We featured two regular contests this week

The first regular contest was the It's An ILL Wind Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that is the name of, or incorporates the name of within it, some sort of illness, disease, or medical ailment. Pat Madea got very basic with CRUD for 8 points, but Ed Saunders scored 20 points with CANCER to claim the $2.25 prize.

The second regular contest was the Here, Fishy, Fishy! Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that is, or incorporates somewhere within it, the name of a fish or other underwater creature. There were no entries in this contest last week, but Ed Saunders dined on LOBSTER (74 pts) this week and hauled in the $6.75 lobster pot.

Ed's $9.00 winnings go back to the club kitty.

No one cashed in on any of the Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $0.56 added to it. As of this session we have paid out $164.80 in prizes this season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2007-2008 season.
